St. Joseph Volunteer Services
At St. Joseph, we have over 450 student and adult volunteers working to provide the very best in patient care and customer service to our patients and their families.

St. Joseph has many opportunities to choose from. You can volunteer during the day, in the evening or on the weekends. If you have three to four hours a week to make a difference in someone’s life, please join the St. Joseph Volunteer Team!
Who Volunteers?
People volunteer for many different reasons. They may wish to become actively involved in the community, meet new people, explore career possibilities, perform school community service hours, develop skills and experience, share their special touch when people are sick, or just because it feels good. Whatever the reason, volunteers do make a difference. Volunteers make it happen!
Volunteers at St. Joseph Regional Health Center range in age from 14 years old to 90 plus years of age. They are students, retirees, those in transition, those with special skills who have extra time and individuals who are fully employed.
St. Joseph has three groups of volunteers.
Auxiliary – is made of adult men and women who donate not only their time in departments throughout the hospital, but also give a generous financial donation to St. Joseph each year through money raised from the gift shop and various fundraising projects. The Auxiliary also has several social functions each year, like the Awards Banquet, Christmas party, yearly trip, and much more.
Student Corp – is made of adult men and women (18 years minimum), many from Texas A&M and Blinn, who volunteer for educational goals and work experience. Volunteers are accepted for orientation three times per year for fall, spring or summer semester placement. Student Corp volunteers serve about 30 hours per semester or 3 hours per week. Apply early – we fill up fast!
Junior Volunteers – is a summer (only) volunteer program for youth age 14 – 17 years. Applications are available in March each year, either on-line or at the information desk in the lobby of the hospital.
