Teen Volunteer Program
Summer 2016 Teen Volunteer Program -- Deadline has past and we are now full for the summer. Please check back in February 2017 for information about our 2017 summer teen program.
Thank you for your interest in our Teen Volunteer Program at CHI St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital in Bryan. Our teen program offers volunteer opportunities for youth age 14-17 years old. You must be 14 years old by June 13, 2016, in order to participate in our program.
Please read carefully: We are offering one 8-week session from June 15 – August 7. You are required to volunteer for, at least, one shift per week (shifts are 3 to 4 hours depending on assignment) and may not be absent for more than two weeks during the summer session. Shifts will be offered Monday – Saturday between 7 am and 6 pm.
All accepted applicants and returning Teen Volunteers are required to complete online orientation and attend one Orientation Check-in Session. Choose from:
Monday, June 13, 10 am – 11 am
Monday, June 13, 1 pm – 2 pm
We have a limited number of placements available. Many of you have busy summer schedules and you need to carefully consider whether a commitment to the hospital program will fit into your schedule.
RETURNING Teens (if you volunteered the summer of 2015 or earlier):

New Applicants: To apply to our program, please complete your application and submit your letter of recommendation to our office no later than April 25, 2016. Incomplete submissions will not be processed.

- One (1) non-family member recommendation letter. Recommendations should be from a teacher, employer, or church personnel that can attest to your character and work ethic.
Please complete your online application (this will automatically be transmitted to us) and then submit your letter of recommendation to (choose one method):
Applicants that have submitted their recommendation will be contacted by email or phone to confirm your school interview. These take about 15 minutes and will be scheduled May 2, between 4-6 pm, or May 3, between 4-6 pm, at CHI St. Joseph Health.
Please do not apply if you are not going to be able to commit to the full session with only 2 absences. No Exceptions! It is our goal to support hospital departments with consistent Teen Volunteers throughout the summer program.
