Physician Network

St. Joseph Physician Network is a partnership between the independent physicians and St. Joseph Regional Health Center, developed to address the sweeping changes that managed care is making in health care. SJPN is a Texas 5.01(a) Certified Nonprofit Healthcare Corporation, incorporated in 1995. Its Board of Directors is comprised of twelve physicians.

SJPN believes that health care is a local issue, and that health care decisions should be made by local physicians and health care providers. We have worked closely with local employers and providers to develop insurance products that will be responsive to the needs of the community. We work with insurance companies and self-insured employers that will partner with SJPN, by providing some of the traditional insurance company's administrative services, such as member services and enrollment, utilization management and network management.

SJPN is the preferred provider network for the St. Joseph's employee plan and several other self-insured employers in the Brazos Valley area. We have more than 150 physicians participating in SJPN and have developed contracts with four hospitals, seven rural health clinics and a broad range of ancillary providers in six counties.

Our Vision:

To develop cost-effective health insurance options for employers in the Brazos Valley area;

To develop an integrated delivery network of providers that will provide easy and efficient access to quality health care services; and

To ensure that SJPN's integrated delivery network and community-based health plan are responsive to the needs of the employers, employees and providers.
