St. Joseph Health System announces
Premier Health Destination
to be built in south College Station

Working with the area’s leading physicians and a group of developers, St. Joseph Regional Health Center announced plans to create a new "health destination" campus in College Station.

The new location will offer physician office space, a day surgery center, and diagnostic and therapeutic services. The project is in design phase, with the initial construction estimated to be at least 90,000 square feet.

"For almost two years we have been monitoring the rapid residential growth in south College Station," said Jack Buckley, CEO of SJRHC. "By conducting household surveys we know that many area residents would like to use St. Joseph when they have health needs, but our current campus just isn’t very convenient for them. We want to offer more convenience to the residents of College Station and southern Brazos County."

The campus will provide office space for primary care physicians, obstetricians, medical specialists and surgical specialists as well as a day surgery center. Diagnostic and therapeutic services offered will include laboratory work, imaging and physical therapy services.

"Our goal is to work with physicians and developers to create a unique health care destination for residents to go - not just for care when they are ill, but as a place to go to learn about healthier lifestyles and actively work at improving their health," said Buckley.

St. Joseph Regional Health Center, a member of St. Joseph Health System, has been providing health services to Brazos Valley residents since 1936, when the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania, Ohio purchased St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan. Today St. Joseph Health System includes four hospitals; eight rural health clinics and two long-term care centers serving residents of the Brazos Valley.
