Electroencephalography (EEG)

Facilities | Services | Physicians | Employment | News & Activities | Foundation

An EEG is a diagnostic recording of the electrical activity of the outer portions of the brain. A trained technologist uses an EEG machine to record this activity on large sheets of paper that move through the machine. After the EEG recording is completed, it is interpreted by a neurologist who is trained to recognize normal and abnormal EEG patterns. The physician who requested the EEG will receive a report from the neurologist who interpreted it.

Millie Leatherwood, C.M.E.T is the St. Joseph EEG technologist. Randall Light, M.D., a board certified neurologist, is the medical director of the EEG lab.
