Since 1995, St. Joseph Regional Health Center has been providing CPR and First Aid training for Brazos Valley residents, continuing our commitment to improving the health of the community through ongoing educational and support opportunities.
St. Joseph Healthy Communities offers a wide variety of CPR and First Aid courses designed for family and friends, laypersons in the workplace and for health care professionals.
Heartsaver CPR (includes AED)
This American Heart Association course is appropriate for anyone who needs to learn adult, child and infant CPR and relief of choking, including corporate and retail employees, security, law enforcement, health and fitness staff, child care employees and any other layperson in the community.
This course also includes AED (automated external defibrillator) training.

Heartsaver First Aid
This course, designed by the American Heart Association, teaches rescuers how to effectively recognize and treat adult emergencies in the critical first minutes until trained help arrives and takes over. Persons assigned to respond to emergencies at the workplace or in the community will benefit from this course.

Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Course
The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Course is designed to meet the regulatory requirements for child care workers in all 50 United States. It teaches child care providers and others to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. The course covers the Four Steps of Pediatric First Aid and modules including:
- Pediatric First Aid
- Child/Infant CPR AED
This course is well suited for Camp Counselors, Childcare workers, Coaches, Foster care workers, others responsible for children including parents, grandparents, babysitters and guardians, teachers and youth group leaders.

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers
This American Heart Association course is appropriate for health care providers who respond to cardiovascular and respiratory emergencies. This course covers the information and skills needed for adult, child and infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), treatment of cardiac arrest with an automated external defibrillator (AED), recognition and treatment of choking and safety factors in training and actual rescue.

Our CPR and First Aid courses are designed with the community's needs in mind -- quality health education that is convenient and also affordable. Should you need to cancel your registration, please call the St. Joseph Healthy Communities office at 979.731.1231. Refunds will only be granted if cancellation is made at least two working days prior to course and all course materials are returned. No refunds will be granted for late/no-shows.
The above CPR and First Aid courses are held at the St. Joseph Professional Building, located at 2700 East 29th Street, Suite 140 Classroom. This building is located between the Emergency Room and the Parking Garage in Bryan.
