Texas A&M Family Medicine Residency Program, Bryan, Texas
The granddaughter of a Cuban community doctor, Dr. Vivian Olsen grew up hearing about the medical support her grandfather provided to his rural community. At an early age, she knew she wanted to follow in his footsteps and dedicate her life to helping people.
Dr. Olsen was born in Venezuela and raised in Austin, Texas. With a Cuban mother and a Lebanese father, she has roots in several places around the world – including Aggieland. Both her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Engineering and Medical Degree were completed at Texas A&M University.
With her residency in Family Medicine, with an emphasis in OB/GYN, Dr. Olsen is passionate about caring for the whole family. She believes mental, spiritual, and physical health is important, and enjoys being able to see patients in an environment that shares her values.
Attracted to St. Joseph because of its strong relationship with the community, Dr. Olsen is now fulfilling her childhood dream. She volunteers at a local prenatal clinic to help patients of socioeconomic need.
When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family, staying healthy and fit by running races and salsa dancing. Traveling is also a big part of Dr. Olsen’s life because her family is spread out across the globe. Dr. Olsen is also fluent in Spanish.
