Dr. Kerry Johnson joined St. Joseph and the Normangee Family Health Center in 2008. Prior to that, Dr. Johnson held a private obstetrics and gynecology practice for 20 years, near NASA, in Houston.
Growing up, Dr. Johnson spent time in both East Texas and Houston. A high school water skiing accident that broke his hand first piqued his interest in medicine. He received an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas, in Austin and a medical degree from Texas Tech University, in Lubbock.
Dr. Johnson likes the one-on-one relationship he is able to form with his patients, and likes the small-town place. The Johnsons have two adult daughters, who practically grew up in Madison County, at what was then the Johnson's weekend home. When they fled the nest, the Johnsons decided to take up permanent residency and haven't looked back.
In his off time, Dr. Johnson likes to ranch, travel, ski, jog, get outdoors and play a round or two of golf. His wife likes to compete in horse shows and he is her biggest fan.
