Those who may benefit from this program include people with:

  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
  • Emphysema
  • Chronic Bronchitis
  • Asthma
  • Bronchiectasis
  • Restrictive Lung Disease
  • Diaphragm Paralysis
  • Pulmonary Hypertension
  • Patients awaiting lung transplant or recovery from lung transplant
  • Patients who have undergone lung volume reducing surgery

About the Program
This program is designed to help manage the symptoms associated with lung problems and improve quality of life through exercise and education.  This program consists of physical and pulmonary therapy and education sessions on the etiology and management of lung disease.   For safety, all exercise is closely supervised while monitoring oxygen saturation levels, heart rate, and blood pressure.   Pulmonary rehab meets twice weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays for two hours each day and the pulmonary rehab team includes Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants and Respiratory Therapists.

Enrolling in the Program
The pulmonary rehabilitation program requires a physician referral and recent Pulmonary Function
Test (PFT).  Patients are encouraged to share this information with their physician and discuss if they would benefit from this program.
