Mission:
SJRHC Acute Therapy Services is committed to treating individuals, as we would chose to be treated. Our responsibility is to provide the highest quality physical, occupational, speech, and cardiac therapies at a level appropriate for each individual’s specific needs. We realize that our most important contribution is the therapy services we provide and the manner in which we deliver them. Patient improvement and customer satisfaction are our driving goals.

Scope of Care:
The goal of the Physical Therapy Department is to see all patients who are functionally impaired by their condition and for whom intervention will significantly improve their functional status and/or prevent further functional deterioration.

Inpatient Acute Physical Therapy provides services to post operative and non-surgical hospital bound patients. Patients receive instruction and rehabilitative techniques directed towards returning them to their previous levels of function.

Patients in the acute care setting are typically treated once or twice daily, seven days a week. Treatments may consist of bed mobility instruction, gait, endurance, &/or balance training, strengthening &/or range of motion exercises, patient education, and development of a home exercise program.

Physical Therapist manage their patients’ care with a team approach, which includes communication with other health care providers and the patient to provide comprehensive, quality care with the maximum outcome.
