Long Term Care
In the Franciscan tradition of respect and dignity for all life, St. Joseph offers comprehensive services to care for senior adults. Our approach is to provide care for the body, mind and spirit, allowing seniors to live life as independently as possible. St Joseph offers two facilities to assist in meeting these needs:
St Joseph Manor in Bryan offers skilled, intermediate nursing care, and assisted living.
Burleson St Joseph Manor in Caldwell offers skilled and intermediate nursing care.
Who needs Long Term Care?
Long-term care is a broad term that covers a variety of services and support to meet health and personal care needs. Personal care needs are such things as help with bathing, dressing, using the bathroom, transferring and eating. Health needs can include pain management, administering medication and therapy. These services are usually provided in nursing homes, assisted living and home care.
How do you pay for Long Term Care?
Medicaid - State and Federal program that has medical and financial requirements
Medicare - requires a skilled need
Private Pay
Long Term Care Insurance - Each policy has different criteria for coverage.
What is Skilled Care?
To be eligible for Skilled Care (Medicare Part A benefit in a skilled facility)
- Physician must certify that you need skilled nursing care.
- You must be admitted to the facility within 30 days of discharge from a hospital stay of three or more qualifying days.
- You must require a skilled nursing or therapy service. For example, someone fractures a hip and needs physical therapy.
Medicare Part A coverage includes a co-pay after 20 days of service and is limited to 100 days OR when the skilled service is no longer required. To learn more about nursing home, skilled care, and assisted living click on the facility on the left.
St Joseph Manor in Bryan is located at 2333 Manor Dr, which is next to Blinn College and the St Joseph's Rehab facility. They offer skilled and intermediate nursing home care and assisted living.
Burleson St Joseph Manor is located on Hwy 21 in Caldwell, just a short drive from Bryan, Giddings, Rockdale, and Brenham.
