For tens of thousands of Americans, significant pain from knee and hip joints have a huge impact on quality of life. People who once enjoyed an active lifestyle with hobbies, sports or travel are restricted by joint pain. For many of those people, joint replacement is a very real option to restore mobility and free them from much, if not all, of their pain.
For years joint replacement surgeries such as knee replacements and partial-knee replacements, were seen as a last resort because of the complexity of the surgery, long recovery time and pain and discomfort associated with the surgery. A new day has arrived in joint replacement. St. Joseph Regional Health Center offers a total joint replacement program that follows the national best practice guidelines for joint replacement. Known as Joint University, the specialized program has received outstanding comments from the patients who have been through the four day program.
